I grew up riding in Colorado and life has brought me to Cali. I am looking for family friendly trails near Terrasanta. I am aware of the Mission Valley area and plan to hit that but would like to branch out. I have two little ones, 5 and 7. So the fun stuff it kinda out for now. My 5 year old will be using a tag along bike so the sharp turns and steep up and down are out. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Welcome aboard! You should get quite a few suggestions from members in your area. Also, take a look at www.mountainbikebill.com. He has a great site for local trail descriptions and directions. Some of the urban canyons might be good for the family. |

not sure about CO, but we have lots of poison oak here, and it seems more common on the "family friendly" trails. i keep my 5yo repeating the leaves of three mantra... |

Welcome I just did Lake Hodges for the first time this weekend and although climbing Bernardo Mountain would not be good with the little ones, there were a lot of folks riding with small kids on the lower fire road around the lake. I saw two small gopher snakes and a turtle down by the launch ramp, so kids would love that too. Jim |
