They want $400 per year for 3rd party photo hosting so I'm migrating to my own site. p00p7, any chance you could do a site wide global replace? In vim it is: Code: g/i644.photobucket.com\/albums\/uu164\/406_bucket/s//www.umtgriz.com\/forum/g |

See if this works... http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=91087.0 https://fixphotobucket.com/ The FAQ seems to say a forum admin can update all the links in a thread - maybe there is a way to fix all of them across the forum? https://fixphotobucket.com/faq That would be a nice screw you to photobucket... |

Apparently the "fix" can be applied programmatically, but I tried with one of 406's photos and it didn't work. Could it be photobucket got wind of the fix and broke it? |

using the photobucket website to download all my "folders" is horrible. I bet all the managers are patting themselves on the back and saying look at all this traffic we now have with the new business model. |

Quote: Photobucket, which started around 2003, became one of the nation’s largest photo-sharing sites in the early 2000s. During its dot-com heyday, the company was acquired by News Corp. that explains a lot |

The downloading album option isn't working so I emailed them: Quote: Hello there!
I am very sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused you. This is a known issue affecting several users and our engineering team is troubleshooting the problem. We will get this resolved as soon as we can! In the meantime, you can still download your images with the following steps Step 1. Login to your Photobucket Account Step 2. Navigate to your library page Step 3. View a photo and click the download button Step 4. The picture will be saved to your computer Thank you for your patience and again, I am terribly sorry for this inconvenience! |

Our CTO at work pointed me to Amazon web services S3 to try for photo hosting (or any file hosting). It was simple to set up and prices are based on metered usage not flat fees. $.023 per GB of storage and tiny charges for uploading / downloading (people accessing hosted pic from forums). Based on what I have now in photobucket I estimate the fee would be $.58/mo assuming I uploaded everything. Looks like the most basic account structure only allows 100 buckets (folders) but I can live with that. It can be used to host photos for display on a separate website, or it looks like you can set one up using AWS as well. https://aws.amazon.com/s3/ |

Looks like they've maybe sorta realized their strategy wasn't working? New hosting plans $100/yr for personal use vs $400/yr for commercial. This doesn't show yet on their website but I got an email showing the plans below. Too bad for them I already set up my own site to host my pics... |

Being the cheapskate that I am, I upload my pics into Google Photos albums. This doesn't give you "hostable" links to the pics, so I then create pages on Blogger and insert the photos I want to host, directly from the Google albums. From there you now have a link to the photo that can be used within the IMG tags on various forums. |
