Somewhere in the bushes in Temecula on a solo ride. Getting dark and the coyotes are singing. Always knew approximately where I was, but never knew exactly where I was. It's the most convoluted contour trail I've ever seen, ups and downs, always folding back on itself. Eventually ran into a friendly trail gnome going the other way, even older than I am. Made it out just as it got full dark, hot, sweaty and cold all at the same time. Didn't need the headlamp but it was good to know it was in my pack.
