Post subject:  What trails lead to waterrfalls in SoCal?
I can think of Elfin, Old San Juan Chiquito, Holy Jim Lower, San Antonio Falls Baldy, and the ol trail leading into Fish camp from S Main Divide.

Anyone else?

Ceader creek falls trail in San Diego Estates and if you climb up or start at Eagle Peak rd there is a second fall at the top (don't recall tbe name)

Lake Hodges if the lake is full. The dam overflow is spectacular but given our curre t stage of drought nothing is happening there. On the back end, on the south trail there is a fall that is in the Rancho Bernardo area.

Ranch Penasquitos Preserve falls in the center of the park. Very popular destination with the park users. More of a large rapid than a waterfall.

Pretty much everywhere. Personally, a patch of rocks where I accidentally put too much stop on the front wheel.

DISCLAIMER: Have not been to the falls, but have been close.

The general area of Cedar Creek Falls, Mildred Falls, Three Sisters Falls and Devil's Punchbowl can be accessed by riding down from Julian on Pine Hills Rd. then on Eagle Peak Rd. which is a smooth dirt road for quite a while. Once you're down to a point called "Saddleback" (33.002413, -116.715111) you'd head West on E.P. Rd. to the Cedar Creek trail junction, or take a jeep trail East to 3 Sisters / Devil's P-Bowl trailhead. Mildred Falls is a little bit North of Saddleback but I don't know if there's a trail.

You can make a nice loop going back to Julian from Sister's / Devil's TH by taking Boulder Creek Rd. back to Pine Hills and then joining back on Eagle Peak Rd. -> Pine Hills Rd. -> 79. That loop is ~28 miles. The first 21 is part of the old Julian Death March.

Lets do this, its been too long since I rode in South Eastern county San Diego..

I used to ride to Cedar Creek falls about once a year. I would park at the fire station at the junction of Engineer Rd and Boulder Creek rd. I would ride south on Boulder Creek rd, through the Indian Reservation, which was always good for a bit of sprint training, as there was usually a dog around to give chase. Several miles down Boulder Creek, which was all dirt, I'd turn onto Cedar creek rd, which was a narrow jeep trail kind of road. It would take me down to Cedar creek, above the falls, then switchback up to the terminus of Eagle Peak Rd. where an old decomposed road/trail went down behind the barriers.At the bottom, you turn left, and on a good wet year, the location of the falls is easily detected by the noise of the cascading water. One year, an El Nino year, the falls looked like something out of Yosemite. Mildred Falls was also quite impressive that year, too.

The ride home was a long climb up Eagle Peak to Boulder Creek, the riding back to the fire station on Boulder creek Rd. which is all paved at that point.
It too was around a 27-28 mile ride, and most of the miles were vertical. It was quite the ride.

I bonked on two separate occasions. But since I always did that ride solo, (none of my friends liked the idea of that ride), I'd just have to eat some trail food, rest a bit, and force myself on.

I don't think the falls will be much this year, and I doubt that Mildred will make a showing at all. Hope I'm wrong, and that some of you guys will try that ride, and let us all know.

I found one of those falls today at Calavera :bang:
