Finally finished the bike repair stand at the top of the Power Line climb in PQ. Hopefully you never need it but at least it is available if you do. Thanks to Ranger Melanie for her help these past weeks. It would have been much more work without her. |

I'd been riding around now for a few weeks with a misaligned stem/front wheel. It might help explain the rash of crashes I've experinced lately. Anyways, when I got to the top of Powerlines there was brand new shiny red station, so I just could not resist throwin' my bike on it, and using its' own tools to true up my situation. I haven't crashed since............ |

First documented case of the stands being put to use! Rumor has it - if you use the repair stand in the field, you won't crash any more! |

A new bridge was installed at the west end of the canyon. The Wagon Wheel bridge was lost to the flooding this past January and a narrow, very wobbly replacement was installed. Over the last few weeks, a Scout took on his Eagle Scout project and, with help from his team installed a 100' suspension bridge. The thing is a piece of art!  Old bridge on the left

We saw the posts up a few weeks ago, and were speculating it would be a suspension bridge. Now I am wondering what it would be like to ride it, and if the bridge has adjustable settings. |

it has got an awesome bounce to it. Riding across was not any big deal. Joggers in small groups are lots of fun to watch cross though. Saw two different groups of 3 have to walk because their cadence created a really nice wave to the bridge. Pretty funny. |

Wow! That's one helluva Eagle Scout project. I look forward to trying that out. There's that suspension bridge in Hillcrest/Bankers' Hill that I'm familiar with, and I've seen groups of kids do exactly what Dirtrider is wondering about......get a serious cadence going on it. It's a much larger and heavier bridge, too. I hope that nobody tries to walk a horse across that, it would be a disaster. |

I have been in LA the last two days. I guess I missed all the fun? From Ranger Washington this am: Good morning, Due to the sustained rain we have determined the trails need to be closed. We apologize for any inconvenience. It may take a couple of days for the trails to dry out sufficiently to allow recreational use. This is a very early closure, though we need the rain, I am hopeful that this isn’t a sign of the winter to come; trail-wise. Have a wonderful rest of your week.
