Froome OUT.
Cavendish OUT.
Andy Schleck OUT (okay, no one cares about him anymore).

Looks like Talansky and Van Garderen just improved their odds. Contador lost big time to Nabali today. Most excellent.

I hope Sagan can find a way to win a stage this year. He does great things on the podium.

I think today's stage totally lived up to expectations, Gaps opened up in the GC; and the stage didn't have any hills. T.J. Vangardren in the post race seemed to think the race directors made a mistake including a cobbled stage, but he's kind of a weenie (IMO). Cancellara says he likes the cobbles and likes stages like today's. Paul Sherwen says the winner of the tour should be a all round rider that is capable of doing it all (I agree). I think the rain was the biggest factor today more so than the cobble stones. Many of the crashes including the crashes that put Froome in the car, all occurred before the cobbles.Today's stage sucked for me, Froome was my fantasy team captain. I still have Sagan and Porte, but I think it will come down to Nibali and Contador for the win. It should be interesting for the remainder of the Tour to see if Contador can run down Nibali when they get to the mountains.Team SKY looks pretty stupid leaving Wiggins home now?

I wonder how long it will take the pro teams to start running bikes with disk brakes, especially on a day like today?

I knew the results of today’s stage and yet thoroughly enjoyed watching the replay this evening. There was some awesome footage of those guys battling with their bikes on the cobbles. 101 miles in 3:18 or ~31 mph!

I really hope Talansky finishes the race ahead of van Garderen. TVG is always complaining about something.

Another great day of racing going into the first rest day!

Here's a bit of levity at the finish.

Won't see this in the next Specialized ad:

To be fair, I broke an aluminum Specialized road bike (once) and Specialized mountain bike (twice). Both warrantied immediately, no questions asked.

After you have a big result and you become a marked man, things change; you can't escape as easily and gain 5 minutes anymore. I hope Andrew survives the day, I'm sure his goals have change, maybe a stage win if he can continue......growing pains.

Talansky has definitely got guts. It would have been easy for a weaker guy to just quit, but he pulled up his big boy pants and made it to the line before the cut off. This has been a strange tour; lots of bad weather, the cobble stage, the two head and shoulders favorites abandoning, Broken bikes, broken bones, broken dreams. We still have a week and a half to go.

Bummer for Talansky. He demonstrated true grit finishing. The number of fans that stuck around at the finish to bang on the barriers, bringing him home was awesome!

I'm a bit glued to the Tour this year. The very frame I commute on each day was well represented today by Pinot...pretty neat to see him podium and posture.

I cannot wait to earn some Dura-Ace for this bike.

after seeing your frou-frou mtn bike (quote per 24v), seems like you have a sweet french connection.

hope the bottle cage fits a nice bouteille de vin.

Best part of today's stage, for me, was Horner having a go on the last climb. He jumped and had this look on his face that said, "What the hell, this ought to be good fun whether it works or fails."

@jsatch: Why do you hope Nibbles is doping?
