What!? Stage 2 already and no thread yet? Must I goad the roadies into action? Do you miss Lance that much?

So that was a good finish today. I always like it when the lone rider barely escapes the pack bearing down on him at the finish line.

And what about yesterday's farcical finish? If that doesnt call for an OMG, what does. The announcers called the winner "the big German". My wife says "He's wearing white lycra...he certainly is a big German".

Near disaster again today in the final km's when a Jack Russell terrier ran in front of the peloton...do the French not own leashes?

What will tomorrow bring?

Yeah, today's finish was fun/tense to watch. Gotta root for the guy that jumps from the break in the last mile with the peloton bearing down.

I saw a replay of the bus driver when he realized what he'd done yesterday. :D

Bummer that steephill.tv is no longer providing links to unrestricted streaming...

The end of stage one was comical. Felt kinda bad for the bus driver. They were lucky that finish line rig did not fall down when they finally decided to back the bus out of there. Can you imagine if it fell down on the riders? They were also lucky that bus was able to get out of the way since the turn at 3km where they were going to have the finish would have been mayhem. Imagine all those riders going 50 mph in a sprint with nowhere to go but a stone monument and turn in the narrow road. The organizers screwed up but were really lucky too that day. I was surprised at no P. Sagan win at the end of stage 2. Corsica looks like nice place to visit.

Just read a quote from Jens Voigt regarding Ted Kings DQ and it reminded me of this interview following Voigts win earlier this year in the TOC. Dude is awesome.

My 3 1/2 year old wakes up around 6:30. We have been watching it every morning. Pretty cool moments.

In the last 17 years I have never cared less about the TdF than this year. It's a shame too, because it's such an incredible event, no matter who's participating. Plus I kind of miss arguing with Mongooseboy about the fastest man on two wheels, Mark Cavendish.

I thought about putting Cavendish on my fantasy TDF team but Cannondale is all about Sagan this year. Ivan Basso isn't even there. Plus Sagan can climb a lot better than any other sprinter in the field, so he's going to be there at the end when the other sprinters won't be. I think in a drag race Cavendish is faster but Sagan is a better racer. Plus I watched him (Sagan) wheelie past me and my riding buddies on the Del Dios Hwy. a couple of months ago when the Amgen TOC was in town. That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen on a road bike. Eric; you should watch tomorrow: It's on regular T.V., and, I can't wait to see Condador get his butt kicked. I don't like that guys style or lack of style. Frank Schlek got fired today by Radio Shack it will be interesting to see if Andy Schlek Channels the anger of his brother getting fired into a inspired ride. Andy thinks he is on the chopping block as well, so he my go for it as a job interview for another squad next year. But my money in on Chris Froome based on what I've seen in the Critérium du Dauphiné nobody cam beat Froome except maybe Richie Porte and they are on the same team. I'm in like 5000th place in the fantasy challenge so my climbing team needs to produce tomorrow.

Watching right now. I don't disagree with any of your opinions, especially about Froome and Sagan. And that Quintana kid is probably faster up the side of a mountain than I am down the side of a mountain. Glad I got the TdF bug back.

Thinking tomorrow may be a good day for a break to stay away. With a long downhill finish, I'd be surprised anyone will try and make up time on Froome rather likely to try and not lose any more time.

Big day for my TDF fantasy team. I have Froome, Porte, and Sagan on my squad. I went from 5327th to 2715th in one day. Another big mountain day tomorrow. I don't think Froome's going to give up yellow all the way to Paris. the battle now is for third because Porte is the second best rider. All the Americans were left in the dust, where's the EPO when we need it?
