Does anyone here has their right foot down on right turns; left foot down on left turns? :?

Right foot forward most of the time but switch it up a bit to assist in cornering. I like to have my outside foot forward on turns. I try to take notice of any obstacles which may require me to pedal through or over in which case I keep my dominant foot(right) slightly up to give me a better chance of getting over or through something.

weighted outside foot is the norm when cornering hard. I would think no one has one foot "forward" as in cranks horizontal unless turning at slow speeds. I always corner hard when I have good speed and that puts my outside foot down and inside foot up (cranks horizontal) That goes back to my Willow Springs days on the street bike.

Tell me if you think Im crazy. lol

Oh Im left handed, so left is my dominant foot and goes forward on DH

Wouldn't that be "cranks vertical"?

I honestly can't tell you which foot I tend to put forward, but I do try to mix it up if I think about it. If I'm on an easy section, I'll put one or the other foot down to stretch it out and rest a bit. On anything technical, or at speed, I'll level up the pedals (cranks horizontal) with whichever foot forward feels comfortable at the time. I also make a conscious effort to spin the pedals forward now and then, not applying any power, just a few spins every few seconds. My reasoning there (backed up by some bad experiences) is I want to make sure my chain hasn't bounced off the chainring in case I hit an uphill and need to turn on the power. Also, if I'm carving some flowy singletrack, I'll anticipate the next turn and put the foot forward that's going to be on the outside. Then when I enter the turn, it's a quick quarter-turn forward to push the outside foot down and weighted. That puts my inside foot up, with the knee bent so I can push my knee (and some of my body weight) into the turn. I don't always get it right, so I find myself back-pedaling a quarter-stroke to get the outside foot down.

I never gave it much thought when I was riding a lot 15 years ago; now that I'm getting back into it, and have been surfing all the while, I'm totally cognisant of being a "regular" foot. My hips sometimes go out of alignment too, so this makes the right leg even more awkward if it's forward. Left leg forward is my attack stance. :?
