The plan was to start at La Costa at 8:00 this morning and get in a quick 45 min loop up Vista Del Mar and down Singletracks before heading off to work. Pretty simple plan and an easy loop that I have done many times before. Got to the Kiosk at the top of Vista Del Mar with no problems, took a quick break before pointing it downhill for the goods. I was railing the berms and sprinting the flats until the one decent size drop about a third a way down the trail. Rear tire lands on a rock and a pinch flat. No big deal right? I got a spare tube and CO2...I'll be riding again in 5 minutes. Got back going and through 5 or so more turns before a straight rocky section. I bunny hop over a rock section and.....psssst....another flat. A little bad luck, but I have a patch kit. Might be a little late to work, but sh!t happens. Takes about 15 minutes to patch up the two snakebite holes. I get the tube pumped up with my last CO2 and get the wheel back on the rig. As I am gearing up for the sprint to the truck.....PSSSST.....a patch blows out and I haven't even gotten on the bike yet. This is were my quick morning bike turned into a long morning hike. 3 f*cking flats within a mile! I need to really work on my MTB karma because apparently I am running low. When is the next trail work?

-No Cheers Today

Damn that sucks. I hate when supposedly quick rides turn out to long drawn out affairs because of mechanical failure. Hope your next ride is better!

FLATS SUCK!!!!
Thats why I roll heavy thunder with my wheels.
Sure, it takes me three times as long to climb, but my chances of flatting are very slim.
Sorry to hear you pissed off Mother Nature, did you run over a stink bug or something?

Cant they invent flat proof tires yet? I mean we can clone pitbulls and put a man on the moon (or at least film it in the basement of the white house but dont get me started). But really how about solid rubber tires? Would they be that heavy? If you werent racing lets say, would it really be unrideable?
