All home games will have to be played before lunch so that the old folks wouldn't miss their nap times in the afternoon.

Moving on, here's a brief TR from our most recent Palm Canyon Epic ride today.

I've had 2 other subsequent redemption PCE rides following my forgettable cherry popping experience with some of you OG DTs. I was "that" guy - physically broken with full body cramp. Well, I learned a lesson to not head on an epic ride following two solid days of riding prior.

Today was definitely a seamless ride. Perfect weather and our group had a bunch of first timers to PCE. Big group of friends -still smiling at the Palm Canyon trailhead.

My hardy friends do not heed to "this is not a race but a marathon ride" PCE strategy. Full gas right off the bat.

First carb-up break. I'm still allergic to climbing.

Heading to probably my favorite part of the entire ride second to the sand wash

Today, it was easy to tell the virgins from the veteran PCE riders.
New comers were cut up and punched by native pointy flora.Image

Found a stray balloon on one of the climb heading towards Trading Post trail.
The balloon was uplifting on the boring mindless climbs heading towards Goat trail.

Pretty fun but pretty uneventful ride to be honest. One flat and no other mechanicals. No one crashed out badly and the sand wash was in the best packed condition I've ridden it on.
All told, 28 miles, 5 total hours (not all moving time) and our "B" group got lost for 1.5 hour. Hahahaha.

I think I'm good to not ride PCE again for the next 5-10 years (if it stays open).
There are just so much better epic rides elsewhere plus the e-Biker really pissed us off on a pass right near the end of the sand wash.

Nice...we rode it the weekend before Thanksgiving and I agree, the sand wash is in the best condition ever. However, the new re-route the Indians have forced us MTBR's to go on (leading up to the sand wash) sucks donkey balls compared to the old route. This time, we also took the Art Smith Trail down from the tractors for a change of pace. It had one hardcore, as in steep, climb that we HAB'd up but it was only about 1/4 mile. The payoff was 2+ miles of goat trails type terrain down near the bottom. The "fun" factor IMO was much higher overall the going the standard Hahn's Buena Vista route *BUT* it's only worthwhile if you have a vehicle waiting for you at the bottom because it' about 11-12 miles from the Vons.

Haha, did Italo ever get his man card? Or was that the chiquito ride...

Hahaha. I still remember that ride to this day because no one warned us virgins to take it easy from the get go and also for Italo's bad directions to my supposed "bail out" route. He got man card from me for picking my broken ass up down the street by AM/PM once I finally got out of the homeless encampment somewhere nowhere near Dunn fire road.

Ps. I like the new packed side trails along the wash.

Oh fuck that... that's where our B group ended up in. Even the post ride brew could not wait for them. Hahahaha.
