Yup. All City of San Diego parks and trails are closed. Other cities like Chula Vista and some land managers like Elfin, CNLM have followed. Unfortunately as each place gets shut down it pushes people to the next open spot and we'll probably see more closures. Hoping it doesn't get out to Lagunas but I see that place getting crushed once it warms up to the high 60s/low 70s. Now is not the time to be doing group rides.
Iron Mtn was listed as open yesterday so I went, figuring it would get closed soon. Getting back to the TH there was - guess what - a trail closed sign!
That place has my number, have had some sort of mechanical each of my last 3 rides there. This time had a great climb up but then my rear tire lost most of its air a couple turns from the top. Had forgotten to move my tool pouch over to this bike so I had CO2 but not the inflator. Got to do the walk of shame. Still a nice evening, and not as many people as I thought there'd be.
I no most don’t feel safe riding on the road, but it’s like they have closed them down in my area. You can stay off the main drag. Just saying ride like when you were a child.
Got a small ride in last Sunday at La Costa before closure, which I figured would be relatively dry after the rains. Took the fire road up to avoid people. Horned Lizard down was pretty stacked, so it was a one and done. "Get me outta here!"
