April Fools!

I just saw this on the SDMBA Facebook site. Seesms like that place will be getting paved sooner than we all hope.
https://www.facebook.com/SDMBA/?__tn__= ... U1zNgWoXM8

Below is a cut and paste. Not sure if you have to follow them on FB to see it. Sounds like some Bullsh!t to me.

CALAVERAS ALERT!

SDMBA would like to let you know California Department of Fish and Wildlife has made it clear they are stepping up enforcement at Carlsbad Highlands Ecological Reserve. https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/…/Places-…/Carlsbad-Highlands-ER

We expect a press release from them any day, but they are sending out game wardens this weekend to the property. These wardens have the power to issue citations and misdemeanors.

The Department has made it clear they intend to start issuing TICKETS.

SDMBA became aware of this in the last couple of days. We are assessing options on how best to move forward and will keep you posted. We are also aware this area has confusing ownership and poor signage.

Please let us know if you hear of any interactions or have a personal interaction on the property with Wardens.

Also, the Law Firm of Richard L. Duquette has provided a checklist of recommendations below if you come in contact with a law enforcement officer.

1. Be respectful to them.
2. Take GPS coordinates, pictures and record the encounter.
3. Remain silent and explain you would like to talk to a lawyer.
4. Gather witnesses to the event and their contact information.
5. Have the description of your bike in advance in case you need to seek its return. (i.e. picture, price, serial number under the bottom bracket and model)
6. Ask if you are free to leave and if not, why you're being detained or ticketed.
