Since DT is consisting more and more of old'er'-timers, I think many of you will enjoy the heck out of this video if you haven't seen it already (I just viewed on VitalMTB):




I was only a one year old when this was shot, but dang, it so reminds me of how it was back in those days. Play outside all day. Very little adult supervision. Figuring out tricks and stunts on bikes and skateboards. Get home in time for dinner. And then dreaming about all the cool shit you were going to do tomorrow, with a huge long day of fun in front of you. Fuck yeah! No sense of time like we do as adults. So much awesome!

Man, that was pure greatness right there. Big Frigging LOL throughout. I think I even saw a old CZ shirt on one of the kids. Kinda funny how we some how managed to live without all the rules and restrictions we have today. :roll:
I was a bit older and in HS at this time but I have some 8MM film of Trials De Espana, Great Bear GP, Cal City GP, B to V, and many trips out around Mohave.

My first true yard-sale crash was in that era on my Schwinn Stingray. Where the local highway crossed the freeway, there was a large dirt embankment on the side of the bridge. I looked at that track heading straight down to a probably 2 foot high jump berm at the bottom and thought "I can do it". I didn't break anything but got a nice set of bruises and my handlebars were all wonky as I landed in true lawn-dart fashion.

Just a few doors down from my house, there was an empty dirt lot that we did lots of digging in. Built forts, built bike tracks, and did generally stupid things. I wish kids today had some open space like we had to dig and just do generally stupid things too.
