Best loops? My vote is 4 corners, wrangler. bronco bobcat, spur kernan.

Park on the road (called Morena-Stokes on google maps, but the sign at Buckman Springs calls it Corral Canyon Trail). There's a "lot"/wide-spot-in-the-road right where Kernan dumps out. Ride up the road and pick up Espinoza. Climb Espinoza to the Los Pinos road crossing. Turn left and climb the road until it dumps you onto Spur Meadow. Hang on and have a blast descending Spur Meadow, then turn left at the bottom to climb the paved road up to 4 Corners. Then take Wrangler all the way down (and have fun on the huge granite slabs and boulders) to whatever that road at the bottom is called... turn left and pick up the next climbing trail to your left (can't remember the name). Eventually you get back to 4 Corners, but I'm fuzzy on the details at that point. From 4 Corners, take the wild descent down Kernan and finish at the cars.

For extra credit, while climbing Los Pinos Rd, make a left and climb up to the fire lookout tower at the top of Los Pinos Mtn. Hopefully Norm will be there and invite you up for a tour.

Good call.... often referred to as the "triple espresso" : Spur, Wrangler & Kernan in the same ride!!! Excellent!!

I used to race in the Sagebrush Safari out there in the 90's. Back when Pop-Tarts were a standard pre-ride staple...until Powerbar hit the scene. I used to take the kids out there on dirt bikes 10 years ago but it's been much longer than that for me on a mountain bike.

Triple expresso is my usual route out there, and looks like I am not alone!

I have done Bobcat a few times and it was fun but then there was the additional climb back up to 4 corners..

^^^ Well, I’ll be out of town, but I wouldn’t be able to keep up with y’all out there anyway. Rode my mountain bike there once all by myself in the eighties, and never saw another bike, just two-strokes and jeeps. Pretty damn tired after about a thirty mile loop and running out of water, and never been back. Liked it though. Great photos Clyde, with Corte Madera in the background.*
