So I'm pretty stoked, I picked up a really clean '91 Stumpy frame a few days ago on CL. I've been wanting an oldschool Stumpjumper for a long time and had hoped to eventually find a frame. Finally found one in my size (18"), and in really nice shape. All Tange Prestige tubing makes it super light but strong and I know it's gonna be a great ride. I've already done basic build using stuff I had around just to get it rideable, but I'll be swapping out many of the components for better quality stuff as I find it - like better derailleurs and shifters. My goal with the bike is 22lbs which I think is very doable.

I was gonna ride it today but it's pouring, so it's maiden ride is gonna have to wait until tomorrow. Anyway just thought I'd share my project. :)

Oh and I wanted to post a couple of pics too but the site is only allowing me to post a link to my hosting service (Photobucket) for some reason..

Edit: Ok I've added a small image of the bike.. :)

Thanks. I havent figured out where my gallery is yet (lol) but I did manage to attach a quick pic. To add a little info on the bike, I'm running a very light set of 26" wheels I'd been saving for a long time, shod with WTB Velociraptor tires. The bike has the original factory stem (gonna probably be changed out), bars, and seatpost. I also have an alloy Suntour headset in it, and a light cartridge in the BB. The derailleurs are gonna eventually be changed out with 7spd Deore, as well as the crank set. Oh and I used a modern seat with Ti rails and am planning on using Ti parts in several other key areas as well. :)
