It's along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and looks pretty cool. A little something from MTB Bill in 2015.

Edit: I found some directions to the TH's so that's one issue solved.

I did on a tour with Kaibab Mountain Adventures, now known as Escape Adventures. Very scenic. Miles of trail flowing thru pines and aspens. Get some.

Just don't be a numb nuts and try to ride it all in one day. Take your time and enjoy the surroundings. Camp near Locust Point and do two out and backs.

If you make the effort to get up there it is highly worthwhile to do some riding on the Arizona Trail over by Jacob Lake as well. Some easily accessed AZT sections that are great are:

- from the North Rim lookout tower above the entrance station, north to the East Rim overlook. Well known meadow section.
- the 8 miles south of Hwy 89A. From where the trail splits away from Hwy 67 to Hwy 89A. Nice forest riding, mostly downhill. Return via easy pedal on dirt roads.
- the 10.5 miles north of Hwy89A to Navajo Trail, mostly downhill. Return via easy pedal on dirt roads.

You can see all that on Trailforks, and if you have the app you can use the map even without cell coverage. MTB Bill has a writeup on RR and AZT as well.

I actually WAS going to rid ether whole thing in one day but have since changed my mind. I saw MTB Bill's video as well as read info on a few other sites. I use Trailforks on a regular basis.

I've never encountered Trailforks before. What a great resource! Thanks Evdog!

Yeah, it is a fun and scenic one.

One thing to keep in mind is that it is high elevation and can get below freezing at night in the fall. Also, takes some driving to get to the trailhead, so might be worth finding a few days of stuff to do in the area.

mtbproject.com is also a useful planning site.

I second evdogs comment.

I did a 2 day camping trip on the RRT. We drove in on FR294 and camped at Locust Point and rode out and backs in both directions. I thought it was a great trail. I think I enjoyed the Timps Point side more. A little further away is Point Sublime. If I were you I would camp there one night. It's amazing!

The Arizona Trail near there is also top knotch.
