What's the key differences between an xc bike and a mountain bike? My bike is a xc and I don't know what distinguishes it as such. I'm new, educate me. Thanks!

Your XC (cross country) bike is a popular kind of mountain bike. It's a hardtail, with no rear suspension. It can be ridden anywhere, but is considered best on smoother trails. It's a great bike to learn on. Full suspension (or dual suspension) bikes called trail or enduro bikes are more popular for rougher (or "more technical") trails. As a motocross rider, you might find yourself eventually wanting an enduro or downhill (DH) bike.
