Some research suggests that they are evolving and are starting not to rattle. The theory is that the rattling rattlers are getting hunted/killed, whereas the silent ones survive and breed. Oh great.... |

Also a beautiful mountain kingsnake in the campground which I think some other DT'ers got a photo of. |

I have heard these called coral kings as well. If you live where it's important to know the difference, the rhyme is "red & black, friend of Jack; red & yellow, kill a fellow". |
