Here I am almost done building my bike and what happens? At Interbike, Ellsworth releases a smaller version of the Evolve!! Seat Tube is 15.5" down from 16" and effective top tube is 23" down from 23.5" :x

I should have waited 20 days. lol

On a lighter note, my Stem finally came in

Can't wait to try this bike out next weekend.

Here's the bike with shifters and chain now. current weight= 27pounds.
Stem not yet installed.

Here's the bike after it is finally completed and took it out for the first time. I don't think the Rockhouse was the best place for me to test the bike out though. The hill actually beat me up.

Awesome ride, too bad I didn't realize how much harder it was to turn the 29" wheel. I was on Granny almost the whole time.

I love running over stuff I used to avoid though.

Rock House is a great place to test a new bike; rocks, climbing, ledges, baby heads, & switchbacks. What more could you want? And it is all in your head because a 29" wheel is not harder to turn over, however if your running the same gearing as you do on your 26" bikes you may feel a difference and it may take a while to get used to. Remember that your covering more ground per pedal stroke than you are on a similarly geared 26" wheel. 29'ers FTW!

nice bike build. get it dialed in?

Its not completely dialed in yet but it was comfortable where its at. My riding buddies pointed out the my rear shock was way to stiff so I am glad we got that resolved. made for a better descent. because of my height (or lack thereof), I am looking forward to putting in an Adjustable seatpost on the bike since it is a lot higher than what I am accustomed to. Although on my other bikes, when I start out, I normally have my seat all the way down and when I get rolling, I bring the seat back up.

I HABbed most of the climb since I am not used to spinning a larger hoop. I actually cramped up on the ride. plus it didn't help that I was off a bike for 3 weeks. It was still a great experience though.

Thanks CV rider, it looks like you were having fun going down the switchbacks. We should try going down it sometime. I have only experienced it going up. :D
