Lovin my EMD and been toying with the idea of parting out the Chumba and building a full susser 29er. It actually feels weird riding my fully after riding the Niner. Sorta in the Bike vs on it. The list: 1 - Niner RIP 9 - 2 - Voodoo Canzo 29er - Easy on the wallet! 3 - Niner WFO - Limited fork options, cheaper than RIP Any other idears? Don't know of any place local that has built 29ers except for trek and specialized stores. Anyone know of any deals on the above listed frames? Thanks in advance! |

They are the only bike shop in Socal that has a large selection of 29ers. I'm a long-time hardtail guy, and had 0 experience with full suspension bikes (either 26er or 29er). So that definately biased my opinion. But here's what I rode that they had in L or XL sizes to fit me: RIP9 - Sweet bike, but rode like a cadillac. I love having some road feedback and this sucked up everything. Climbing was good (important to me). Specialized 29er - Dogmeat. This rode like a sherman tank. I absolutely hated this bike the instant I jumped on it in the parking lot and couldn't return it to the store fast enough. Ventana El Rey - This was the winner for me so I bought one. There's some bob on the uphills as with all bikes with this rocker configuration. But the RP23 propedal removes this with the flick of a lever so the tail locks out and it climbs like a hardtail. Reasonably plush for downhill and level once you flip the propedal off. I'm perfectly content with this bike and have no more bike envy of other's I'm riding with. |

Do you even get your bikes dirty before you take them apart and build the next one? |

Salsa Big Mamma Had it for over a year and bought it online at Speedgoat.com. Great bike.....nice on the wallet as well. There even cheaper then before. Ride all over with it. Propedal on climbs works great and I am able to climb pretty well. Flickable bike as well and definitely have down some decent 5 foot drops and pretty good gap jumps etc on the bike. Pushed its limits and its held up well. Frame scratches real easy and thats about the only downfall I see in this bike. Rides kinda like a broken hard tail when you ride it with propedal on. Salsa makes a nice bike. |

Get yourself a Turner and you'll be happy once and for all and yes, probably you will not buy another bike for a long time. The other day, I saw a brand new Salsa Big Mama for around $595 if you care for one. Good luck Larry. |
