Thinking of upgrading to a Ti frame, looking at a Lynskey Pro29 SL + Lynskey carbon fork + Lynskey Ti seat post.

Any Thoughts, are there other frames that I should look at?

Anyone selling anything?

PS-this is so I can thrash your trail during all my rain rides and not worry about my frame rusting :drunk:

What I have is the Salsa El Mariachi hard tail which is basiaclly new. Total of 5 rides, less than 100 miles on it.

You can run it SS or Greared and now it is set up as a 2x9.

All parts are brand new and they are top of th line, and here is the line up:

Med Salsa El Mar w/ original rigid fork

It comes with Rock shox Reba that is set up at 100mm or you can go 80mm.

XT cranks, Xt shadow rear der, XT front der. XT shifter pods.

Sram Cassette 980 and Sram chain, one step before the top of the line.

Salsa / WTB saddle with Salsa logo on it.

Lizard Skin Moad grip with lock ons ( color match to the bike)

Easton EA 70 bars, low rise, 685mm

Salsa seat post and stem and extra flat Salsa handlebar never used.

Chris King headset in black.

Shimano El Camino Heyes 6" front and rear.

No wheels.

I have invested over $2500 on this and that's what I like to get close to. I can post pictures if you need.

Not sure when I will get around to riding this style but I know what I want. Jones Spaceframe.

I used one of the tubes out of that jones front tire at the river. Toobed down the Colorado with a case of Bud light strapped to it. Worked bitchen!!!!

I'm hoping to build the same setup. Seems Lynskey is a popular choice. Found a thread on MTBR re: TI frame builders/dream bikes. Keep an eye on the Lynskey loft. Saw what I wanted, checked back the next day and they sold out... Gotta be ready to buy.

The carbon fork is cool, tracks very well. Not as sexy as Ti, but the frame/geometry/handling/ride on the Niner One is incredible. Fun, fun, bike. I am glad I went with the Flow rims....wider solid rims set up tubeless (at or below 18 psi up front) account for a better ride, especially with Ardent 2.4 EXO tires.

Saw one of the Pro29 Lynskey's at Bike Bling last week. Thought it was amazingly sexy with those twisted tubes (but maybe a little over the top too).

Lynsky Helix makes me want to throw up in my mouth--too much cowbell!

But a Lynsky with normal tubes and a lefty fork would be money.

You might also look at Black Sheep, Crisp, and Ragley.

Yes, the Helix is over the top. But if it makes you want to throw up in your mouth, I'd think the Black Sheep would make you want to projectile vomit.

Set it up as a normal cross country bike with multiple gears or go the route of slider drop outs and a single gear for a minimalistic approach
