A friend told me about this insurance, which you can get up to thirty days after purchasing a bike. Your bike can be covered for replacement parts for five years. Think about the costs of cassettes alone! She just got $455 of free parts at Trek (other brands can be covered). They cover e-bike motors (but not batteries), which typically have only a two-year warranty, and fail way too often.

I do not plan on getting this for my new analog bike, because I actually enjoy working on bikes, and want the flexibility of using whatever upgraded components I want (possibly they allow for that, I don’t know). I think most of us left here on DT probably feel the same. But, if I had a brand new e-MTB, I would seriously consider Velocare.

“ring, ring….Hello, we’re calling about your bicycle’s extended warranty”

My buddy Bob has velocare
on his Trek.
They have replaced drivetrain
twice, replaced all suspension
bushings, cables, rebuild fork,
and probably other parts I forgot.
Definitely paid for itself.
