Athertons used to have a blank in their cassette so they can coast and remove feedback to the suspension. |

Attachment: Coincidentally, Valley Boy tried this out today. He got a stick jammed at Daley, and ended up going chainless all the way down Quail and Caballo. I asked him to observe the effect. He said he didn’t feel any suspension difference, but wasn’t really going very fast. Also, the DW Link supposedly minimizes pedal feedback compared to other designs. Huh. |

Looks like it broke the hanger? It was thinking of trail fixes today and one thing I do might help after this mess happens. It looks like some kind of strap, maybe from his pack, was used to strap in place until he got back. In my crankset hollow tube, I keep a couple of long zip ties just in case |
