Maybe like me you got a new bike with a new fork and didn’t have the right no-chamfer socket to fit the top cap. I was going to buy another socket when I found this beautifully made-in-the-usa custom box end wrench, that has two sizes, fits perfectly, and costs less than a socket. It fits flat in a toolbox, is light weight (alloy wrench on alloy nut is not a durability issue), feels good in the hand, and I like the inherent simplicity of just picking up this one tool, instead of selecting the right size socket and snapping it onto a ratchet. I’ve never had to remove a cassette on the trail, but this is a pretty cool tool to consider for bikepacking tool kits or in your pack on a big day out in a remote location. About ten bucks. |

While I don't see myself ever needing this on the trail, that's pretty badass. If I didn't have a cassette lock ring tool and chain whip, I'd just get this for garage work. In the meantime, I certainly expect Harley to carry a chain whip, lock ring tool, and a couple of my specific spokes in his pack, should the need arise on the trail. |

I bought one of those for my toolkit a few years ago. Not to remove the cassette, but I'd been having issues with the cassette lockring loosening during rides occasionally. Not something I wanted to deal with on a bikepack or remote ride. Never needed to use this tool after I bought it though. I did try it out at home. It worked. |

The functionality and design is enticing as described. And I always appreciate a good, light effective tool. I still have the Ritchey CPR mini tool rattling around in one of my packs. This new tool might even make me take a safety break again during rides! |
