Ok most of you probably get a new bike every couple of years so won't care - but for broke people like me who have old parts I discovered fox has a new more better DU bushing kit available. They are fully retrofit-able to all old shocks, and supposedly last longer and have less friction than a standard DU bushing and don't require any special tools to install. It's like 12$ for the little kit, and pops right in with no tools required. |

^^^ there are also needle bearing kits that a lot of people gush about, but I just went DU bushing last time too. |

As Old Dog said there are needle bearing kits. I don't know about gushing over them but I tried them on my Nomad and like them a little better than the bushings. They seem to work a little better on the lower shock mount. Probably no difference on the upper mount though, it doesn't move much. The bearing are a bit of a pain to but on though the first time. Which spacers to use to get the side to side play minimal while not causing any binding is a bit subjective. |

To the OP, were those available at a LBS or did you have to purchase them online? |

^^^ LBS should have 'em. There's an old DU vs new polymer DU vs needle bearings thread on empty beer. |
