I just bought a Blackspire Stinger, and was wondering if anybody could lend me a hand in installing it, it's a bottom bracket mount, and i ride a reign 2.

I dont own a crank extractor or a BB remover. If anybody has time today or tomorrow to help it would be appreicated. i can bring beer. good beer.

Stu,

I can give you a hand with that, but I've got stuff planned tonight all through the weekend. If Monday rolls around and you haven't got it installed yet hit me up!

I'm a big fan of stingers. 1/3 the cost compared to leading brands and works as designed and last longer as well.

Let me know if you need help. Pretty easy to install.

Exactly. You can't beat how well they work not to mention the price. Plus you can run whatever bash guard you want.

Kinda wanted to do the same thing on my bike ( reign 1 ) but i heard it was pretty tough because the BB on the reign is press-fit. I wanted to run the bash/ chainguide combo and was advised against it..... am i wrong?

i think it all comes down to the year of the reign. 2011 and 2012 are press fit to my understanding, anything before that and your good to go?

From what I understand you're SOL if you have a press-fit BB and no ISCG tabs.

.... Which exactly describes the reign. I'm just gonna replace my big ring with the shimano bash.

I can't believe bike manufacturers are making AM bike with that combo, same deal with the Intense Carbine. Awesome bike... but press fit BB and no ISCG tabs. :P

Seriously. Especially with such a low BB height. I hit everything with my my big ring. Seems like a serious design flaw fir such an aggressive feeling bike.

I guess the way to go is to get the new XTR M985 rear deraileur which is suppose to help with chain movement / slap that causes you to drop a chain.

Yeah, I would LOVE to try out that new Shadow Plus XTR RD, but it's only available in 10-speed and $250 for just the RD is out of my price range at the moment.

Stu... If you're willing to venture to National City tomorrow morning, I'd be happy to show you how to install it. I have all the tools here. I'm free to help ya between 7am and 12pm. If you're down, PM me and I'll respond with my number.
