Hey all... probably won't be around too much since I'm out-of-state rider, but I'm headed to San Diego for 3-days of mountain biking while my wife is at a conference. We'll be driving, so I'm bringing my bike, and will want to RIDE. I'll be able to ride Thursday, June 2 - Saturday, June 4th, from morning until mid-afternoon. I see you have some group rides on various days, and I'll be keeping an eye on that, but if anyone would like to show a San Diego Noob around, I'm game. I've got my own transportation, so just tell me where to show up and I'll be there. I *may* have someone to show me around a bit on Saturday (from emailing the SDMBA)... no confirmation yet of that, though. Consider myself an advanced rider so from what I can see of your advanced trails... they look like a blast.

A bit about me: Arizona native, riding mtb for about 13-years now. I'm a graphic designer/webmaster, and I designed and maintain the website for my local mountain biking group, the Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists - SDMB). You can check out our website here: http://www.sdmb.org I ride a 2002 Titus Switchblade, which I built up to be more all-mountain than XC (though I love climbing, too). Love me some technical stuff, small jumps, drops, etc... but not too DH-oriented. I also ride an old KHS softtail I converted to single-speed but probably will stick with the full-squish for San Diego.

Anyway, that's it. If ya'll are interested, just let me know... otherwise if you happen to see some guy wandering around your trails looking lost without a GPS, that'd be me... say hi.

Thanks, all. Definitely had my sights on Noble Canyon. Was also looking at LaCosta (NASCAR?), Cuyamaca State Park, and Mission Trails?

Don't think I'll be able to camp, but will most certainly be up for riding with ya'll on Saturday. I'll post up in that thread...

SWEET!

Funny, that describes me in Az last weekend. Nice website you have. Welcome to DT -- and see you at the DT ride.

You all are most-welcome. I just got finished with a massive website overhaul, including reworking all of our trails pages with Google Maps, trail head directions, videos, etc. It was a labor of love, for sure. Glad some of you are finding some use out of it!

Getting excited about my San Diego trip. I just bought a set of long-travel rockers for my Switchblade off some guy who had them collecting dust in his closet. If you know anything about old Switchblades, the long-travel rockers are virtually unobtainable. Gotta get the shock rebuilt, but hopefully by the time I hit San Diego, I'll be sporting 5.7" of travel. *drool*

And if any of you are headed our way, look me up. Love to show out-of-towners some of our nice trails.

I will have more flex time during your stay in San Diego and would love to ride all three days.
I'm thinking La Costa Thursday morning, June 2nd at 9:00am. I have a small window that morning, so we can knock out a few laps.

Then Friday June 3rd, I was thinking hit Mission Trails, Spring Canyon, Mr. Toad, Iron Tread, and/or up and over to Sycamore Canyon to Martha's and back. Should be ready for burritos after that.

Saturday June 4th I'm thinking head up to the Lagunas campground in the AM and hook up with the riders who are camping out there that weekend.

That's what I'm thinking.

If I can swing it on Thurs or Friday, I could join in. I'll be at Lagunas too.

azcycle, did you to the AZT Jamboree back in January? I was in town with Kreechan that weekend, and we crashed the ride. I posted pics up if you care to search for them. We also rode Bugs-Milagrosa, FI, and 50 year. Thanks for all the work on your website, it is very helpful!
