Yo Guys happy to join your group. I'm in Leucadia visiting from Iowa for the summer…originally from here. Was recommended to join up by the popular Gabe from Vista. Met him at the apts. where Im staying while he was doing a job here. He saw me working on one my road bikes in the garage and we started talking bikes. I told him about a "special project mtb " I've had pending for more than 5 years. A new old stock World Champion Scott Spark RC with an integrated seat post brand new frame. Collecting the right parts as I can afford them. I anticipate this to be the first fully raceable full suspension XC MTB to weigh in at sub 17.5 lbs and possibly sub 17lbs. Anyway I offered him the new old stock drivetrain that came off this bike at an awesome price which he wanted bad but family duties came first. It is the Sram XO carbon Triple group that won the World XC races with Nino Schruter 3 years in a row. Still very sought after weighing only a few grams more than the newer XX group that replaced it. The triple has much more flexibility and range for AM, XC and Enduro. I will post these soon with pics and descriptions. I now have 2011 Scott Spark RC with Enves. Didn't take it out this trip but looking forward to riding with you guys next trip. Have a great loop trail 17 mi. where I live along with some technical forest trails. I think I might have predated the great father of mountain biking Gary Fisher in the sport when in the early 60's I used to take my 10 spd Huffy into the woods to camp out using old logging and farm trails…lol. Been a roadie recently to heal up an injury but want to get back on the trail soon. Thanks for the great site. Mark

Welcome to North County, Hawkeye! Maybe you could borrow a bike for a ride this summer, even if it's not a sub-17lb wonder. Dirt is so much better than asphalt.
