So not actually on today’s ride, but not long after. It was a great sunset, and there is an e-MTB in the photo, so I guess this counts.

Ok, this is interesting and quirky, while we were riding a different trail system this morning, we came across an acquaintance who was stopped, looking at his phone and told Sue about y’all getting stopped out there. Im curious of all the circumstances, ya know, the fire dept, ranger…Carlsbad cop too? Musta been a helluva hootin’, hollerin’, rowdy ride to have so many different departments to be lecturing a buncha E-geezers. If only there were a place to discuss this without fear of big brother peeping in on it.

This is pretty funny, we’re at the top of the volcano this morning, and noticed smoke from a homeless camp. I called 911. The dispatcher asked where I was calling from, I said, "from the top of the volcano" :wave: , Mike Dirtrider was standing next to me laughing, "she doesn’t know where that is".
So we roll up to the high school and there were a few Carlsbad police and Carlsbad Ranger. I told him what was going on, they had a drone and found the camp. The Ranger asked if I could show them where it was, I said, no this is Fish and Game land. I’m not allowed to ride out there , he laughed and laughed. No one got hurt, we had a good ride.
Oh yeah, I also told the Ranger when he sees Gardner Gabe let him know Harley on the orange bike says hi.

It was a very prettE day out there. Took the old gray mare, aka Leadbelly, out for a ride, because like anything mechanical — or like us as we age — if you don’t use it you will lose it. It ran great and it was fun punching in some boost, but after riding an SL for the last six months, the weight of the full fat e-MTB, and the motor whine, seems so much less like an actual mountain bike in comparison. Beautiful day!
