There will surely be a day when I jump the shark and plow head first into the eMTB world. Wife will proceed me I presume (hopefully soon). Glad I hadn't jumped in right away though. The tech felt like earlier iPhones, with a serious case of upgrade-itis almost guaranteed. Still does, but it's getting better.

We did a medium/short ride with the eBoyz last weekend. I was on an Amish bike. I have to admit that the faster pace was rough and I was not good for much the following day.

I reckon that's what I dislike most about these bikes. The separation between acoustic and E. It's painful to keep up and those that are riding them have to think twice before considering a ride with acoustic riders who will anchor them on anything that's not gravity.

Despite the advantages, I'll remain a Luddite for now.

Oooh..ha ha!! Perfect description of how I feel on my acoustic rides with you. Which, by the way, I still very much enjoy despite the pain.

One of these days the Lord is going to front me a lightweight e-MTB. My patience and faith remains steady as a rock. Meanwhile, I know for sure I'll just keep on pedaling to enjoy some gravity.

Thinking back when I was a kid I wanted a Schwind Orange Krate or Lemon Peeler, but I ended up getting a Raleigh Chopper some how. I do remember we use to swap out the stock forks for super raked-out chrome plated ones, so we can be cool like Fonda & Hopper when riding around in a suburban town in LA what is now a total ghetto! Many bikes and decades have passed - Now is the time for E.

Oh by the way, someone (I won’t mention the name) has jumped the shark.

^^^ By that I meant avidtest jumped the shark a while back (see his earlier comment!) and got an eMTB. Not long after posting that though, I jumped the shark (again) and bought a lightweight eMTB, thinking it will be the Goldilocks bike. I think it is, but it is VERY different from riding a “full fat” bike. The FAZUA power delivery is very different from my Shimano and taking some getting used to. And in the fastest mode it’s more like lack-of-power delivery (I have not tried customizing the settings yet). It is not the bike for riding with “full fat” friends. But perfect for Amish friends and solo rides. I’m liking it more as I ride it.
