I don't even fit through the new section!

Here's my recommended route:

1. start at Vons (Brett knows where)
2. take little waimea down
3. sand traps, bridges, up powerlines
4. new tunnel
5. pick a walk back up. there are some switchbacks that are sorta doable.
6. keep riding the singletrack around on the mesa
7. drop in the east tunnel entrance
8. climb out the usual way.
9. cobbles -- watch out for horsies. i've had a couple of near run-ins lately.
10. side hill (aka lucas') -- bajacabra's masterful climb
11. take the road toward vons. turn right on cherry hill
12. turn right before you get to birch hill ln. there's a trail entrance there.
13. take eucalyptus down (there's a gap to watch out for --erosion has done a number on this one spot) to the little paved ditch-like area
14. turn left and take that singletrack back to vons.

Sounds good to me, will need directions to the meeting spot, I will post it at the Bonita Bikers yahoo group to see if I can drag someone along

So if I'm going north on the 5 freeway I stay on the right and get off at that "local bypass" and take Carmel Mountain Rd. exit?
And the more important question is: is there anything good to eat near that Vons?

i'd recommend meeting on the left side. it doesn't fill up too quickly.
