Hey all been meaning to give the new trail a ride but don't know the black mt. area trails enough to string together a ride. Anyone feel like playing tour guide next week for me? I've got the kids through Tuesday night but any time from Wednesday on would be cool for me. And I'm not really new but I'll still follow new guy brings the beer rules for the ride

I live right there but I'm pretty busy this week and weekend since my son is getting hitched. I'll try to put together a route for you if you want. You will earn your downs but should really enjoy the new Lilac trail.
Bankerboy lives here too but he's too old and never rides anymore ( :flame:  )

PM's been sent to Matt. I think I might actually be a little older than him and I still ride, so it's more likely just just a personal problem on his part

Hopefully this will help. The new Lilac trail goes between Miner's Loop and Glider Port parking lots, at the north end of this loop.

The other new trail goes between the Glider Port lot and the ball fields, crossing under Carmel Valley Rd.

I usually ride there 1-2 times a week since it's right by my house. But I broke my foot so I'm off the bike for a couple more weeks. I'll probably be up to riding there again in another couple of weeks once I'm healed.

Thanks, got a couple people lined up to show me around. Up for any and all future rides too though, it's just down the road from where I work so makes for a good / close after work ride.

I took Scott and Mike up Black Mountain, across the Night Hawk connector, down Miner's Ridge, across Lilac and Awhee and over Doug Hill. For all of the effort, I was awarded some nice liquid reward. Made the rest of the ride home a lot more flowy in the dark. :drunk:

Thanks for including me. I needed it.

^^^^^I knew I could lure you out of the darkness with that comment. You should be thanking me for getting you to get off your butt to exercise and you got a cold one for the efforts. Now that you're energized go clear some trail, will ya...

Somebody decided to clear brush all down Miner's from the Night Hawk connector to the base of the switchbacks. I am happy they took the initiative to do the work but why the hell do they leave it in the middle of the fucking trail? I wound up getting it caught in my wheels numerous times and had to stop and clear the branches. At least they were not large enough to create a superman moment. Just keep you eyes open for the errant branch on the trail.

i love black mtn, not many people are on it ever. i also love that lilac is super flowey now and leads right to knoll DH!! linking together miners to lilac to knoll is a solid ride. for extra credit after knoll i like to go up and down black widow for good measure.

Black Mountain will be really good when the chair lift goes in.

I don't have any pictures to prove it, but I took a nice ride at Black Mountain today. Started at the glider port parking lot, rode west and then south and did the fireroad climb to the antennas, headed down to Miner's Ridge and over to the Lilac Trail; took Lilac to Ahwee and did Extra Credit/Doug Hill before heading back to the ball fields and returning to my car at the glider port. Not a lot in terms of mileage (9.53 miles) but there was plenty of climbing, and just enough chunk to keep my mind focused.
