"Jan 21 Sat 8:30 am Carlsbad Trail Volunteer Work Session- Lake Calavera This is one of the regular monthly work sessions by the Carlsbad trail volunteers. Work tasks will include trail erosion repairs, trash pick-up and other as needed work. Wear sturdy work boots/shoes, a hat and bring your own water (tools, water and snacks will be available on site also). Check-in/ parking is at the Skyhaven trail head - off Lake Blvd in Oceanside. (Note this is east of the dam- take College to Lake then south on Skyhaven.)" FYI -- The above is a notice sent out by Preserve Calavera. They tend to give notice sooner, more accurately than the City -- which currently has no details on their site, and says "second Saturday of the month", 1/28 (?). I'll see if I can confirm the date is 1/21. In any case, AFAIK, it is NOT an SDMBA or mountain biker coordinated event, so don't expect to be sculpting sweet singletrack. But if you like the area and want to contribute to its upkeep, or see an opportunity to talk to other locals (about fences maybe...?) and represent bikers positively, you might be interested. |
