Departed Montgomery on Thursday 21, after the clouds cleared for a second and headed to Zion. Crazy windy on landing, but we made it. Mountain biking Gooseberry was amazing, and the Hurricane Cliffs Trail (JEM) was intense with some of the best downhill ever!!!

Great shots. 6 of us headed that way on Thursday for 4 days of riding. Any advice or input would be appreciated.

My heart skipped a beat when I scrolled down this shot and saw how high up it was. I wouldn't be able to get out on that ledge crawling on my belly. But standing astride a bike on the edge of that overhang????

Hi,

We rented our bikes from "Over The Edge" in Hurricane, great service and Quentin gave us some trail advice. The shop is close to all the major trails.

http://otehurricane.com/

Day 1 - Gooseberry Mesa trail, slick rock was awesome and we did a figure 8, crossing over Hidden Canyon and got about 16+ miles out of it. Gooseberry Mesa is a tabletop mesa just west of Zion National Park.

Day 2 - Hurricane Cliffs Trails (J.E.M. - Hurricane Rim - Goulds Rim), 21 miles with approx 6 miles of downhill, insane! Park at Sheep Bridge Rd and make it a loop.

We stayed at the new Holiday Inn Express, as you leave the I15 on SR-9 and it was great. They even have bike storage, for an additional $5.00 per day. Food in the area was pretty weak, and we drove to St George most of the time. They do not serve any alcohol with dinner....

Have fun!

Watch the vid, you ride next to huge drop-offs all the time...guess I was desensitized to the heights :)

Flight time, Cessna C182 retract, 2.3 hours....

Make sure you bring your own BEER! Was out there for the Red Rock 200 last year and they did not have a selection whatsoever. Beautiful out there!
