A little slow getting the tr online from a week in SW Utah over Thanksgiving. Tried to slim down the number of photos.

Day 1:
Slick rock wonder land.

Day 2:
The wind was blowing like a hurricane in hurihkun. Got some mineral oil added to the rear break on my bike and decided to do a more sheltered ride than our original plan.

Day 3:
22 mile loop mostly on flowy single track.

2 rear flat tires at the same spot in the trail, lucky me:

Yummy slime:

Something not good happens to the beer to get 4.0% abv, not the best beer but still tasted good after a long day. Looks like a have a bald spot:
Image

Day 4:
Hike up a slot canyon to the drainage divide.

Day 5:
Few miles of single track to a fun area of Navajo sandstone slick rock.
Sandy in a few spots, but mostly really nice and fast:

Day 6:
Everyone said not to ride this place without a gps, but mtbikebills directions got us to the trailhead and we did fine on the ride until right before returning to the truck. After riding around lost for an hour I found the way back just as we encountered another rider who had a gps. This place is sooo fun.

Day 7:
Thought we would try something different, chunky single track. It was fun, but I would recommend shuttling and using a different trailhead for the ending point.

A dog joined us for the ride:

We thought the owner might catch up to us, but never did, so we called the number on the tags and met the owners at the water tank.

Marla with our new best friend:

Awesome trip with great riding weather. Started to get windy and a little rain right as we returned to the dirt road on the last day.

Sage sucks. He got us lost.

Good thing we ran out of time at the Women's trail-side maintenance clinic so I didn't have to change my own flat tire - but hey, I sure do know how to clean and lube a chain. :D

Nice TR thanks for sharing. That place is MECCA. Everyone has to go at least once, brings back some great memories.

from http://www.blm.gov/ut/st/en/fo/st__geor ... arget.html
Quote:
There are no designated target shooting areas on BLM-managed lands in the St. George Field Office. BLM policy is to allow the safe use of firearms on public lands, as provided for in state law, and to cooperate with state authorities in the enforcement of firearms regulations.

Gotta love the BLM and not being in California.

Last time I was in Salt Lake there was a "no handguns allowed inside" signposted at the local movie theater.

Made me smile.
