I'm working with Carlsbad Parks/Rec to plan "Strike Team" work on the single track that's on City property. These trails are specifically Serpentine and Monkey Flower (under the power lines) that don't get much attention or work as they are fairly remote for the regular work days they have.

This "Strike Team" work will hopefully be able to happen on short notice, when we have weather events so we have moisture in the ground.

To get these teams established, we need people to sign up on the Carlsbad Volunteer page. Check out the info Below to get signed up so we can go into 2022, ready to do some trail work.

Here is the link for the coalition members to setup their accounts:MyImpactPage - Application Form - Trails - City of Carlsbad (betterimpact.com). This is the standard link anyone would use to setup an account. Coalition members need to specifically respond to the following questions:

Are you volunteering as part of community group or organization?: Yes
Which community group or organization? (drop down menu): Calavera Trails Coalition

Man I just rode Monkey Flower yesterday before the rains and noticed just how bad the erosion was on the climb up the little valley. I have not been able to ride much out there the last few months. When did the parks department put all the San Bags on Chair Lift? Looks like they have been there long enough to hold some sediment from the previous storms we had. so that is good.

What would the plans be for Monkey Flower? Back fill the ruts? Add water bars?

Also, thanks for getting this done. I created my account and signed up.

Too bad we cannot get out there this afternoon or this weekend... prime working conditions.
