Trying to summon the perseverance of people like Bankerboy. You rock, dude.

Wonder how many pickleballers live in San Marcos? Who's the competition, other than public sentiment, which must be at an all time low, given the recent news pieces regarding Calavera?

SDMBA, is the purpose of the meeting to address mtbing concerns, or are 'we' to represent our interest among others? Do we know, yet, who they may be?

Please keep in mind that SDMBA has ONE paid employee (That I know of) and the rest of "SDMBA" are just people like you and me trying to help out when & where they can. The pays not that great but if things move forward it's worth it.
The more people that get pissed off and voice they opinions to anyone willing to listen, help out where they can for as long as they can, the better things will be.

I agree.

Susan Murphy has been a great addition to SDMBA and the voice of mtbers in SD. (Edit: The fact that SDMBA can pay a director is evidence that so many people care to give support to mtbing in SD)

I totally get it, which is why I prefaced my post with a kudos to BB. I understand, but admittedly haven't committed to, the doggedness, he has displayed, required to see things through and get results.

I think I represent the average mtber in that regard.

5-6 years ago when C-bad was doing what I assume SM is currently doing, putting out public feelers for Parks and Rec direction, I jumped into it. Went to many public/city council meetings and a 'one on one' meeting with a C-bad representative and a representative from the out of state consulting agency the city had contracted to help form the city's direction.

Notably present were J.A.M., Ben Stone, Rich and several others (sorry I don't recall), and we proposed several other ideas that would benefit mtbers, in addition to the proposed bike park, at Poinsettia Park. Such suggestions were, trails along easements in the many canyons, SDMBA backed organization of trail crews (@ Calavera and throughout the city), etc. My impression was that those meetings were simply lip service with regard to the city's consideration of mtbr's interests. I moved south shortly after.

Have since moved back to north county so this and Calavera are back on my radar.

Aw, gee, shucks....

 It was my kids that got it started for me. If somebody didn't do something, there would be little ride.

I saw the meeting notice yesterday for the first time. With all the local advocacy that Calavera is producing, it is time to strike while the support is there.

I saw this as well. If I wasn't taking my daughter to dance class, I'd be there. So many great places in SM for this track. everyone thinks of pump tracks a bit differently, does anyone know if they are looking for something like the BMX track they just opened in south county or would this be more like a SkyPark setup with singletrack with labeled difficulties? There are places for both for sure.

Thanks for showing up guys!

This is a good opportunity. San Marcos wants to build some type of bike facility somewhere in the city.

Seems as though they like the idea of a pump track plus skills area with dirt jumps.

Keep an eye out for meetings and get on their mailing lists.
