Back in the day when game wardens were patrolling on DMM they would be out there in the evenings at times. I see them early morning and late evening in beach areas as well, I presume checking fishing licenses and catches.

I have been riding Calavera at least 2 times a month on a weekday after 4pm since 2008 and never once seen on up un CHER. It would make more sense for them to be at the fishing spots during the best fishing times.

I am going to try and pop out there during my lunch break today and see what I see.

Glad the rest was missing.

Mid week midday it’s a freaking ghost town out there!

Really is the best time to be out there. After 4pm is really quiet once you get south of the lake.

There are two people working on the trails.
One is trimming back a ton of trails, trail angel.

Then the devil, "gardener gabe" and 'tractor boy".
They are grading fire roads, the weepy area just
north of the church and the road between the water
tank and the "pad"............. WHY

I rode 18.5 miles yesterday. Amazing weather,
dodged the rain and 30 Gravel bikes.

Someone is clearing trail, doing an amazing job.
They are working on trails on the Carlsbad side,
Fish and Game property and the back 40.
If anyone knows who this is, let me know, I
want to buy them a beer

The city also had a trails day yesterday. They were
set up at the dam, great turnout.

Rode S. 40 Tuesday just before lunch. Started from the high school area. After crossing the creek and making the first climb, I paused for a breather at “Yeti’s Shovel”. While I paused, Carlsbad fire sprang into action.

2 fire trucks rolled up to the end of Cannon in front of the school. They were soon joined by a CPD suv, a fire suv, an ambulance and another fire suv towing a trailer with a fire side-by-side strapped on. Sweet SXS (had an emergency light bar).

While I was gawking and thinking WTF, an e-bike came up the slot and around the rock I had just ridden by. Young lady in full battle kit (gun, taser, armor etcj and full face helmet rode by. Once she passed I noted the drab green uniform and the RANGER patch velcroed to the back of her plate carrier and the fact she was on a true POS with little riding ability.

Since she was going my way, I followed to make sure she didn’t become an additional trauma victim. Soon lost her around the bend above the tomatoes, so continued my ride unencumbered.

Once I made it to Stonehenge, I noted activity on the hilltop just west of me (middle of the tomato field). The fire SXS soon rolled up from the horse barn area followed by a fire suv. Since I had passed a biker I knew on my way north along the creek earlier, I thought I better check to see if he had been injured.

Turned out to be a trail runner who had been stung by a bee. I did not know him. The ranger on the bike (turned out to be a dude who looked 12) and 4 firefighter/emt’s transported the guy. Left behind a shit ton of crap, which one guy said they would come back later and pick up.

Picture from today’s ride.

Turns out the only thing missing is the tangle of clear tubing! Wonder where THAT went!?

I know at least one person who is doing that - but I suspect it is multiple people.

If you wanna meet him we are usually out there between 4-6pm on Tuesday's well after the fish go home for the day.

Who did the Ranger work for? Do you know? why would they be out there for a medical emergency of the Fire Department and Paramedics were on scene?

So many questions!!!!
