My dog and I just returned from trimming back the nipple-whippers* on this favorite trail.

The trails need a lot of love right now. I noticed a trail fairy is working on fixing Brown Angel. CDFW has been absent from what I can tell for a long time now. Looks like things are returning to the norm of the last 20+ years. Hopefully some erosion control can be put back in place this year by those who know what they are doing to combat all the soil loss of the last few years of neglect.

oh man - i don't even wanna think about what this storm is gonna do to all the ruts out there.... One report said as much as 1-2 years worth of rain from a single storm..... a comparison was made to the last time a tropical storm like this made landfall in 1943 and 5 inches fell in 24 hours....

we are going to lose some soil to this storm.

I did a little digging.

3 trees down on the bridge, I had a hand saw,
but a chainsaw is needed. I reached out to CLMN
and the city. See how long that takes................

FYI — I was shown a photo of a rider getting a ticket from a LEO in a black 4WD crewcab pickup at Calavera, from yesterday I think.

Time of day and location?

I was out there yesterday between 4 and 6 pm and did not see anything other than a bunch of mountain bikers.

^^^ I don’t normally post someone else’s photo without asking permission, and I don’t know the guy, but now I see he posted it publicly on IG, so here it is. He has almost 3000 followers, so I doubt he would mind if I share it with the five or six people still on DT.

Thanks. I met some parents at back to school night who ride and his wife got popped like 6 months ago on a Saturday.

After 4pm is the sweet spot. Rangers are gone for the day by then as I have never once seen one after 4pm.

Back in the day when game wardens were patrolling on DMM they would be out there in the evenings at times. I see them early morning and late evening in beach areas as well, I presume checking fishing licenses and catches.
