HI D.T.

I'm still knocking on the cities door. We had a good meeting this week with the City Manager and he likes the idea of adding bike areas to parks and will help us. He wants to know how many riders will use parks more if they had bike areas and how many riders will use a bike park. Please take a few minutes, visit the website they have set up for parks (below) and tell them we need a bike park.

http://www.carlsbadparksplan.com/index.html

They are holding public meetings on:

Wed, Aug. 27 (5:30 p.m - 8:45 p.m)
1635 Faraday Ave Room 173B
Aviara and Poinsettia Community Parks.

Wednesday, Sept. 3 (5:30 p.m - 7:00 p.m)
Pine Avenue Community Park.
799 Pine Ave, Suite 200

Progress report presentation
Monday, Sept. 15 (3:00 p.m)
Senior and Parks & Recreation Commissions.

Thank you very much!

I spoke with a parks staffer who said they are getting a lot of bike responses to their survey. Thank you to those who helped! Its getting to the right people and making an impact.

I attended the Carlsbad parks commission meeting last night for their master plan update progress report. The bike park effort has their attention and it was brought up by a couple commissioners. The parks department is continuing the online survey through the end of the month. It is very important to get as many bike park responses as we can. They do not have a lot of responses so every request for a bike park is very big.

Done. Guess they are not big on the community centers at the parks?

They plan to build one of some type at Poinsettia and Pine parks.

Aviara Park is open and a good spot for a pump/jump/skills park.

Please take a moment and fill in this survey if you have not. Ask your co-workers and family also. It will only be available until the end of the month. Thanks!
