I needed to get my feet wet. I headed off to my buddy is in northern Arizona stop for a few shots and a beer woke up early it was 27° so I thought I’d take off headed to Albuquerque. The trails there were just too steep and Rocky so I just stayed and I’ve moved on. Drove to Amorello had dinner and stayed the night next day drove to Oklahoma sportsmanlike beautiful place stayed a couple days there and then I rode Saint Crispin. Time to hit the road got to Tulsa I rode turkey mountain way to Rocky for me I felt beat up so I thought going to town and get a beer stop by Cabin boy the IPA Tasted like Barley Wine probably won’t be back. So off I went I only had two hours to get to Bentonville and that was kind of where I wanted to go. Last night which is my first night here I had a tornado warning for that storm that took up 7 miles in Dallas come through though here kind of fun little rowdy. Woke up to blue skies and the trail here is unbelievable I rode back 40 today actually still on it I’m tired and sitting down. The next pictures is of trail called the ledges the picture doesn’t do it justice but it’s a fun trail. Well I better get up and ride. I’ll be riding for another three weeks maybe a month. Oh I’m going to a wedding my sons getting married in Georgia. |

This is a very large play ground. I was just riding along and all of a sudden this field opened up off the side of the trail slaughter pen trail system. In Bentonville Arkansas You don’t see anything Coming because of the trees but they mark features with a little sign that says features Because of the tree lighting is also bad you can’t see the trail in the photos pretty cool little ledges This is one fun place |

So I haven’t been able to ride every day but got some riding in. On my way to Chattanooga I stopped in Conway and rode a little trail system pretty interesting. I kept seeing all these Barry so I looked it up and it turned out to be American beauty said they were edible they didn’t taste very good. They had some wood structures somewhere rideable somewhere falling apart I made it to Chattanooga had a few beers found a place to camp hiked for a couple days waiting out the rain. When I was in Bentonville some guy kept telling me to ride enterprise in Chattanooga he said it was a flow trail. While I was there I met some chick that told me I needed a ride Dupont I wasn’t far from where I need to go but I thought what the hell I had another week or so before I needed to be there so I headed to Brevard NC. It rained for a couple days again so more hiking. Waitress told me they were the land of many waterfalls and they say they have 250 of them in that area Pisgah national Forest. Dupont State Forest seems to be mostly like fire roads turned in the single track I did find some fun trails. It’s a good thing I don’t wear cleats. Being that I rode after the rains every trail it seem like I had to do trail work and some of the logs are a little too big this is actually was a fresh one. This morning I woke up looked at the trails I wasgoing to ride. I knew it I was about a half hour away from the trail so I push the button and it told me to go I started driving about a half hour and ended up being lost in the forest at a trail system no signal so I just went and rode it.John’s mountain Ever since I got to Oklahoma I’ve been turned around on my directions so it took me a while to get out luckily the people at one of the rest areas gave me a map I had to use it to get out. Rome that’s where I wanted to ride Berry college near Rome Georgia be riding it this week. |

I am headed home. Didn’t get everything done but there’s the next time. I have become a hiker maybe. Here are some hikes I did. High falls in Pisgah national forest. Pine Mountain Cartersville Georgia twice. My son. Then my brother. I also hiked the Lost mine trail in big bend national Park It was a little hard for me but I will practice for more difficult. It was beautiful. The park itself is very large and there’s very many things to do I felt lost at first because you don’t have a signal and I’m really tied to my phone I have to fix that I’m trying to learn how to be a regular person with Maps again but they do have Wi-Fi at certain locations and you can get a signal at most of the visitor centers they also have a $12 permit where you can back country camp with a vehicle for people like me it is a little tough for a regular car to get around out in the back country but I managed. I rode a trail by Berry College near Rome Georgia they maintain the fire Roads but not the trail so it was a little rough finding where to go and which way. There’s always some old thing to look at and read some interesting information about this was the old mill for Barry college. Then my son got married at a very beautiful location in Rockmart Georgia I’m hoping it’s my last wedding for my children. Them before I realized I had to hightail it home I rode Dan’s recommendation very beautiful trail and the people in that area were really nice. This is a bridge over a finger of the Kincaid reservoir. The whole trail was covered in leaves so the roots are slippery underneath them and then you run in the patches of mud but luckily they had placed pavers. Definitely worth doing if you’re in Alexandria Louisiana. I wish I had another month to finish up at I’ll always be a next time. Tonight I’m staying near Casa grand in a place off exit 140 south of there in Sonoran desert monument free camping it’s a beautiful place I’ll be home in the morning. |
