The local shop, The Hub Cyclery, actually held a rejuvenation ride this weekend to welcome back all to town and hope to spur some local business that have been but shut down since the fire hit the area. I didn't go on their group ride bec I know it was going to be a gang bang (they had about 60 riders according to a facebook account).

Fast forward to today: I skipped my early ride start bec of the Andorra World Cup live feed but ended up joining a previous invite from two local KOM contenders for a brisk ride. Short story, I bitched out barely halfway. At 5,000 ft elevation and gaining, the pace, mid 80s temp, pestering horse flies and maybe because I was so fixated on Mike's 1x11 gearing on his Santa Cruz, I bonked hard and cramped. I turned around while they continued up towards Optimator. Lessons learned today: 1)Climbing still sucks, 2)1x11 maybe my expensive band aid to my climbing mental crutch and 3)I'm still fat.

Quick and lazy edit from playing around some spots before heading back to the truck. This is about a showcase from a local-to-me spot that almost got charred by the recent Mountain Forest Fire that was all over the news last week.
Come ride there before it gets nasty hot.
