Been awhile since I rode up the trail. What lines I remembered have changed over time as soil washes away and rocks move. I reckon i made it about 100meters up trail before getting slam dunked in a double wheel bucket set. Stopped dead and tipped over right onto a mini pyramid with just my 661 Evo lites. A little painful but kept riding up to the area where the fun roll off rocks and log jumps are when the knee started buggin' out.
Figured best not to push it so I blazed down the hill to the car. Pulled off my pads and saw this:
Image

Doing the RICE routine now; anybody ever have similar? Point of impact was on my kneecap; sure hope I didn't break another knee...

Ouch.

I had a similar thing this past Tuesday night at Martha's. Went OTB in the rocky section, nailed my right knee with no pads and tweaked my shoulder. Next morning my knee was the size of an orange and I couldn't bend the leg. Ice, ibuprofen (lots) and rest and my knee is much better, although purple. My shoulder is a different story.

Hope it's nothing major and you heal quick.

Brutal. Looks almost grapefruit sized from the pic. I'm sure it's bigger this morning. Hope you heal quick.

Ouch!

Rest up.

Depending on rain we may need to brainstorm to put together a long ride this coming weekend. I have a few ideas but they are fairly boring.

This looks good: http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/r ... burly.html
plus it might be damp which is more good!
SantaRosa Mtn both ways could be of epic proportion. Listen to me, out for a half day and i'm already scheming rides!

That is such a long haul to get to (I admit, I hate driving and/or being in a vehicle for long periods of time).

Idea 1. Viejas grade, Boulder creek, eagle peak. Boring gravel roads.

Idea 2. Otay mountain. More boring gravel roads

Idea 3. Pine valley road, south of the 8. Point the bikes out the dirt road and see if we can make Los Pinos (?) above 4 corners.

Idea 4. Say eff it and go bowling.

Sorry to see that sir. Don't laugh when its my turn. I am a crumbling old man too :D. I hope it is just a shitload of swelling....that will go down. If it is "water on the knee" then that can be annoying as the joint capsule is torn and leaking......and it will take awhile to get rid of the fluid problem and heal the tear.

Elbon....that is a great choice if the knats are not intense. I have wiped-out trying to clean the stuff out of the lower trailhead myself. The grind is worth it as the ride down Whore is fast and flowy. You probably did not make it far enuff up the trail to hear the "your going the wrong way" shit :domo:

Heal up fast!
