Man, sorry to hear about this, Dan.

Heal quick, and enjoy the time "cross-training" while off the bike...

I really appreciate all the good vibes from everyone. Dirt Treaders are the best! I already ran into 3/4ths of the Sloth clan while hiking Calavera trails Sunday. RHS has worked up from his very serious injuries to jogging, and Boo & SkinnyMini were jogging in support. Pretty inspirational, huh?

Looks like I get the Scaphoid Screw on Thursday (sounds like something Capt. Kirk would've enjoyed...).

Thanks again, Dan

Sorry to hear, Dan. Heling vibes from my end.

I have to concur with Bankerboy. Evdog suggested hockey gloves. Hmmmm...
Anyone ever try wrist guards? But there's still the bane of opposing thumbs. They're somewhat dispensable on a SS. Hmmm...

My wife was suggesting a stationary bike. Quality discussions - I said that before.

Reviews online seem to indicate they are relatively comfortable to ride with, not really sure how much protection they would give you though. May try it out while getting strength back if I ever get my damn cast off.

I can personally vouch that this will not help at all. I fell playing hockey and broke my wrist on the ice. Guess what type of gloves I was wearing?

Besides, that hugely armored thumb would make it really hard to operate the shifters.

Any initial impressions? Can you comfortably get gloves on with them and the grip on bars still OK?
