I bet it really makes you appreciate the little things. Just yesterday I "superman"ed over my bars on a easy descent down TW. I bounced hard in front of a rock, somersaulted over it and bounced on the other side. I walked away with a scratch on one arm,an abrasion on the other and a nice bruise on the inside of my right leg. The brush was my guardian angel this day.

I may have destroyed my brand new 2010 Mavic XT front but looking back, it could have been far worse. It's just stuff compared to ones health.

Really, don't say easy.... Other places I take huge risks....there I want to bomb that section but it is very tricky, and I back off the gas there like a little ninny. It is the tricky unsuspecting places that are the ones that bite, and bite hard. At TW there is a spot that I had done 100 times (south of cement pad where the trail splits on a very steep uphill), but on this occasion I did a horrible face plant....."Honey, it is not as bad as it looks". I lied. Pics at NOTB on the hall of fame/shame.

Easy was probably not the right word. I wouldn't be where I am now if it were easy. A better generalization would be a "gentle slope". It was not the fierce steep, just the stupid run out heading towards the park.

That steep uphill past the pad has stopped me enough times to appreciate it but it sounds like you really respect it now.
