Retina tears
About three years ago I had a good tear in my right eye and wasn’t able to mountain bike for a while after it was repaired. Well I guess that drop yesterday was a little too hard on my other eye because I tore it and won’t be able to ride for a while after I get it repaired. You guys don’t have to look at my bike leaning against a pine tree for a while maybe in a couple weeks I’ll get some hikes in. I’m out of here

Damn Tom! I hope it heals perfectly. I’ve been having some retina issues for a while, but no tears yet. It sounds like the repaired one is doing well, so that’s hopeful!

You probably already know or read about it. If you have lights flashing in your peripheral or massive Floaties all of a sudden or in my case all of the above and the eye fills with bubbles that start to get dark and completely obstruct your vision there’s a tear on your retina. The eye is filling with blood you need to get it lasered quickly or they have a problem getting through the blood to stop the bleeding.

Sorry to hear that Tom. Are you getting it fixed back there on the road or coming home?

I had to get it done here and was amazingly lucky to find a retina specialists open yesterday and got me in. It is an emergency and I can’t believe I found one open on Saturday don’t think I could have back there. I knew what I was looking for but most would not talk to me if I wasn’t all ready a patient. I left a message on an answering machine and got a call back. Just wow. When it happened there I went to my doctor he called around finding no one except an emergency room that said they could fix it. They lied and messed with me for hours. I had to wait till Monday morning to find one open that’s how I know what it’s like full of blood. There are some really good people here
