Most of you know I struggled with a lymphoma relapse the last few years. That’s why I bought an e-MTB a year ago, and that was the right choice. I’ve had a lot of good rides on it. I had a successful series of treatments earlier this year that helped a lot, and now am dreaming of riding an analog bike again. I’ve been taking occasional local rides on my old bike to gauge if it’s possible. I might be fooling myself, but I think it is, if I work hard at it. I’ve got a long road to go.

Take a look at two recent short rides, Kona e-MTB on the left, Giant Trance on the right.

In about the same elapsed time on the analog bike, I only got a little more than half the mileage and elevation gain, and half the fun (okay, a different kind of “fun”). Not surprising I guess. The good news is I didn’t have to walk any hills, so I will keep at it. If all goes well, maybe I will have an analog option again (but seriously, that e-MTB is FUN!).

Hope we all have a Happy New Year!

I am thrilled to read this Dan. Not because I have anything against e-bikes (except where Harley is concerned..), but because I like where your head is, and your health and body are going.
