hey the links up. Im not so sure from the vague dirt references in the article, maybe more like Paris Roubaix without the cobbles.

I've been thinking about something like this since last summer, when I rode some cobblestone roads close to the race route but on the Belgium side of the border.

My Idea was "the hell of the west" (Paris-Roubaix is hell of the north :) )

Start at MTRP vis center, up and over mission gorge, into santee to the Sycamore trailheads, dirt across sycamore to poway, road to the south poway trail, dirt from the "pond" (a few streets over from Lola) all the way to Sorrento Valley then south and east across Mirarmar, through tierrasanta to the upper half of Mission Trails, scream down the jackson hill (scary on skinny tires) and back to the visitors center. 70 or so miles.

We don't really have cobblestones here. In Pittsburgh there is a "Pittsburgh-Roubaix" that the alleycat folks put on that hit all the cobblestone streets in the city.

My idea will have to wait until the river backs off in LPQ

Adrien, I have a 30 mile loop from my house that has road, a big hill climb (Sleeping Indian) and a dirt descent (Puerta del Sol). Plus, it ends, almost at the ocean in Cbad. Put some CX tires on your Trek HT and you're equipped. Or you can borrow a road bike from me to do it properly.

This route sounds fun.

I was thinking next weekend if it doesn't rain.

It has to be dry, or dry-ish.

If it rains then sometime this spring for sure, just whenever things are semi dry.

How did you get started in bicycle racing?
When I was 8 years old my dad took me to the San Diego Velodrome to try it out because it looked fun.

SD Velodrome represent!
