I know a law clerk involved with a class action law suit concerning this. It is an interesting topic.

Any plastic food container at my house with a 3 or 7 has been thrown away. I didn;t have many but I did have some.

I figure a camelbak has a better chance of saving my life by shielding my spine in a crash than it has of killing me via a few molecules in my water. The risk/reward is heavily skewed towards the positive there.

If your adding nutrition powders cytosport etc to your Camelbacks and not washing them after your rides is also increasing your risks of serious sickness.

Great topic, stuff like this makes me grateful to participate in this sport.

Most of the soft, malleable plastics are good to go (such as camelback bladders and water bottles). Its the hard plastic water bottles, such as the older Nalgenes, baby bottles, etc. that are [potentially, allegedly] a problem.

In addition, the internal lining of some canned goods contain BPA.

Thank you for contacting CamelBak.

None of our bottles (Better Bottle with Bite Valve, Better Bottle with Classic Cap, Performance Bottle, or the Podium Bottle) or reservoirs contains BPA or phthalates. The reservoir is mostly polyurethane and the bottles are made with a plastic called Triton.

Thank you for choosing CamelBak

He still skirted the question I asked him in an email correspondence.

Zirkle? With a name like that, he definitely cannot be trusted.

Damn Eric, where's the justice? Aren't you an attorney? I guess justice is blind but not deaf. And I always wondered what happened to Steve Zirkle. I bet he's still chasing after Laura. Wait that was Eirkle, not Zirkle. Never mind. Get a rope.
