Hey all, is anyone using Zwift on an indoor trainer bike (not attached to your regular bike via smart trainer). Has anyone synched up a power meter to use in the app? Which one? Does it work (obviously not as well as it would on a smart trainer/real bike setup) to participate in the training rides? Not looking for races.

Thanks

My daughter is doing something like that and I think it's this program. I'll ask her

Can the trainer bike resistance be controlled by Zwift? If not it kinda defeats the interactive nature of Zwift.

What trainer bike do you have/want to use? Need more details of what you have and are trying to do.

It's a pretty basic/low tech indoor exercise bike that my daughter and wife use. Just honestly looking for something that would be a bit more engaging while on the bike than sitting there on the bike watching Netflix.

Gotcha. If you've googled the trainer make/model and zwift and came up with nothing, sounds like you're out of luck.

Alternatives:
1) you might be able to find some used rollers for cheap. Those spice up ones indoor workouts until one gets the hang of them.
2) if you like road racing, a subscription to NBC Sports Gold will get you lots of event replays to watch. I use my Garmin 530 to control my smart trainer and ride around Europe on days like today when it's stupid hot outside.

I assume the TV in front her with Netflix will play YouTube, and there are a lot of free cycling exercise videos. Some have a power meter display that she could visually match her output to.

The Nordic Track bike is good and much less $$ than the Peloton if that is in your budget.
